The multipliers, bonus terms and RTP come from the game pages on the Pragmatic Play site. For two versions the provider gives no percentage on the page, so it has to be read in the rules of the game itself. The list matches what the provider had published when this guide was prepared; the series keeps growing.
Gates of Olympus: the original
The first game in the series came out in 2021 and set everything the sequels repeat: a 6×5 grid, payouts for eight or more matching symbols, tumbles, multiplier orbs and 15 free spins with a running total. Multipliers are limited to 500× and the win cap is 5,000 bets.
Next to the sequels the original looks the most moderate, and that is its merit. Its maths has long been studied, and its behaviour is as predictable as a high-volatility slot can be. A detailed breakdown is in our Gates of Olympus review, and you can try the game on the demo page.
Gates of Olympus 1000
The second game differs from the first by one figure, the one in its name. The multiplier orbs here take values from 2× to 1,000×. Everything else is familiar: the same grid, the same eight symbols for a win, the same 15 free spins for four scatters, plus five spins for three scatters in the bonus and a round you can buy for 100 bets.
The stated RTP is unchanged at 96.50%. A conclusion follows that is easy to miss. If the average return has not changed while the largest payouts have grown, less is left for ordinary spins. The 1000 version is not more generous than the original; it is sharper, with longer empty runs and bigger rare hits.

The versions are easiest to compare in practice. Make a hundred spins here and in the demo of the original at the same bet, and look at what is left of the balance. The difference in feel usually shows even over so short a distance.
Gates of Olympus Xmas 1000
The festive version is built on the maths of the 1000 game and moved into a winter setting. The crowns, hourglasses and gems are covered in snow, and Zeus still stands to the right of the reels. Multipliers take values from 2× to 1,000× and are added up at the end of the spin.
The bonus is triggered by four or more scatters and gives 15 spins. Every multiplier that lands in the round is added to the running total, and three or more scatters extend the round by five spins. The provider notes separately that special reels are used in the free spins, meaning the set of symbols in the bonus differs from the base game. The stated RTP is 96.50%.

Setting the look aside, the choice between this game and the regular 1000 version comes down to taste. Operators often remove seasonal releases from the catalogue after the holidays, so it is not always there to be found.
Gates of Olympus Dice
In this version the usual symbols are replaced by dice. The grid is the same 6×5, and a win still takes eight or more matching symbols, after which a tumble follows. The multipliers look like coloured gemstones and take values from 2× to 500×.
Four or more scatters start a bonus round of at least 15 free spins, and multipliers from winning spins build up in a running total. In essence it is the original in a different visual treatment. The provider releases versions like this for markets where dice imagery is more familiar than classic slot icons.

Players who know the original will not have to relearn anything. It only takes a little time to get used to telling the dice apart by their pips and colour.
Gates of Olympus Super Scatter
The most unusual game in the series. The foundation is the same: a win for 8–30 matching symbols, multipliers of up to 500× that add together, and 15 free spins for four scatters. There is one new element, the Super Scatters. These are special symbols that take part in triggering the bonus and bring a fixed prize on the spot.
| Super Scatters when the bonus triggers | Instant prize | At a bet of 5,000 soums |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 100 bets | 500,000 |
| 2 | 500 bets | 2,500,000 |
| 3 | 5,000 bets | 25,000,000 |
| 4 | 50,000 bets, the game's maximum | 250,000,000 |
The 50,000× figure is impressive, which is exactly why it calls for a sober view. To get it, all four symbols that trigger the bonus must be Super Scatters. The vast majority of rounds start with none at all, and then the game is no different from the original. A realistic scenario is modest: once in a while a single Super Scatter turns up and adds a hundred bets to the round.

The provider does not publish a return percentage on the game page. Before playing for money, open the slot's rules and find it there.
Which version to choose
| If you care about | Choose |
|---|---|
| The steadiest behaviour in the series | Gates of Olympus |
| Larger multipliers | Gates of Olympus 1000 |
| A festive look | Gates of Olympus Xmas 1000 |
| Dice instead of classic symbols | Gates of Olympus Dice |
| A shot at a huge instant prize | Gates of Olympus Super Scatter |
The general rule of the series is this: the higher the cap, the harsher the game. A version in which you can win more makes up for it with longer stretches without wins. So the question “which version pays better” is the wrong one. The right one is what spread you are prepared to endure.
We recommend the original to beginners. It lets you learn the mechanics with the gentlest behaviour in the series. The other games are worth trying later, and in the demo first.
What the series does not include
A popular game always attracts confusion, so here is what does not exist. Gates of Olympus has no Megaways version: the slot pays by count on a fixed grid, and the mechanic with a changing number of symbols per reel is not used in the series. Nor is there an “official Gates of Olympus app”: the game opens inside operators' sites.
Finally, there are fakes. Games with a similar name and artwork, made by unknown studios, turn up on illegal sites. The original is easy to recognise: its rules name Pragmatic Play as the provider, and its look and paytable match the demo on this page.
Frequently asked questions
How many versions of Gates of Olympus are there?
When this guide was prepared, the Pragmatic Play site listed five games: Gates of Olympus, Gates of Olympus 1000, Gates of Olympus Xmas 1000, Gates of Olympus Dice and Gates of Olympus Super Scatter. The series keeps growing.
Which Gates of Olympus version has the biggest maximum win?
Gates of Olympus Super Scatter, at 50,000 bets. That prize is paid if four Super Scatters trigger the bonus, and the probability of that coincidence is extremely small.
Does the RTP differ between versions?
For the original, the 1000 version and Xmas 1000 the provider states the same 96.50%. For Dice and Super Scatter no percentage is given on the game page. In any case an operator may choose a setting with a lower return, so check the game rules.
